Oh, the agony of being abroad! I'm glad I haven't slept yet; it's past midnight here. I've received SMSes from my sister back home, she inform me of an important news; She's going to boarding school today.

My last sister, the small little girl, is now all grown up and will be heading to KL.

Man, I'm sorry I missed that! I wish I was there. So many worries and questions came popping up my mind here:

Could she adapt?

Will she get enough to eat?

Did she bring enough books with her? Wait...I forgot, it's just highschool, not university yet...

Would she gets a boyfriend? (I'm gonna fry whoever lads that even says "Hi" to her!!!)

Would she be walking right?

Would she slept well?

Would she introduce her beautiful new friends to me?!

Well, the last doesn't count, funny, why am I writing that? Must had unconsciously typed that, my bad.

I still had her pictures wearing prefect attire, she already look grown up in that, I wonder just how much more will she grown?

Funny, if felt like yesterday (okay, this words are so cheesy) when she was still a toothless toddler, smiling at us when we were having a holiday in Mukah.

Sis, I'm truly sorry to not be there. I do wish all the best to you. Do behave, study well, don't forgot the Quran, and ignore all those lads around you.

Huhu, the little girl had all grown up. Well, all my siblings had grown up.

Out to Sikah yesterday. It's some sort of uptown or Chow Kit Road back in Malaysia. Not really a shopping heaven if you asked me, but nevertheless, we went here during our first few weeks in Mansoura just to get the few necessary utensils at a bargain price. The distance to there is about 10-15 minutes ride inside the cab, price around 3LE (though the drivers would love to charge foreigners 5LE or more, we once had to pay 10LE, and being newbies at that time, we did so without much asked).

Trip yesterday wasn't really much to be talk about. Just accompany a friend to buy something and to bring two new acquaintances from Cairo to this place. Snap few shots, but not too much, as I don't want to be seen as tourist. Though I have to say, there's a few time when the local treat me as if I'm a local. One even ask me the price of a comforter, seeing me sitting next to the unguarded shop!

Once it was "Ni hou", now it's "Lausama"...that should be a good news, right? (laugh)

eh budak ni, potong line betul la!

I'm early today, compare to the past three weeks or so. Being in good mood, I've decided to cleaned up my dusty room and later go online.
I was reading some blogs and checking my facebook (it's not appealing, yet addiction what get me hook to it), when a sudden-random-innocence-out-of-control-naive-and-etc thought flashes in my mind; why not?

Why not early marriage?

Actually, the question came after another question pops up; "Hang kalau kawin lewat, larat lagi ke nak main kejar-kejar? (If you married late, aren't you old enough to be playing tag (with you wife)?)"

I know, it very odd.

Okay, VERY VERY VERY ODD.

But just think. Why people decided to couple when they are young?

Why not wait till the age of 45 years old, then start hanging out at the park, running around chasing each others, etc.

Young is when you have all the energy and spirit. It's the time when making fools out of yourselves are okay, and being crazy once in a while seem innocent enough. So why not have it, with someone you love, and since I'm reluctant with the idea of coupling, why not then, get married early?

Okay, I understand if you had that look on your face. Yes, you probably should consider on avoiding me. No, don't consider, ACT. In fact, file a suit on me so that I'm never 500 m closer than you. Or 500 km, as you like. Yes, privatize your facebook account as well; you don't want me to be as your friend, or as friend of friend. I'm a lad with lots of crazy ideas. You may not want to know them. After all, what you don't know won't hurt you, right? (Laugh, a crazy one)

Now what?

I'm still having episodes or disorientated sleeping pattern as once again I'm wide awake from the sunset to the sunrise. It's getting brighter here in Mansoura and the body already showing signs of fatigue for the lack of rest (~~really? I thought I slept a lot~~). Yet few hours earlier, I was stubborn enough to sleep. Such is the nature of post examination, I supposed.

Yes, post-examination, because officially, EXAM IS OVER!! IT'S WINTER BREAK!! YEAHHHhhhh...

and my joy is cut short.

The earlier plan of going here and going there, I have to skip that. Postpone that. To some other time, maybe next year, or the year after that, or the next year after the year after that, bla bla bla...

With two weeks of free times, I'm running out of idea on things to do. Eat till you drop? Read till you sleep (oho, I done this, countless of times. In fact, so good was and is I in this that the mere sight of the book is enough to put me in slumber...heh)? Walk till you...er, stumbled?

I wonder, how does my parent live their life at this age of which I am right now? I knew, that time internet was never within their gasps. They don't have X-Box or PSP or any other video game console, even the small Nintendo (heck, I don't have all these till now, am I at par with the previous generation?) back then. Yet when ask about their life, their always seem to be content. Happiness seem like a common thing. Compare to us of this current time, well, I'm not wrong to say that teenagers and young adults are not really that happy. Entertainments are abundant, in fact you can even said too much of entertainments, yet all that and the hearts are still not contents. Empty, the hollow hearts are left with nothing to fill in.

Maybe, we should try to return back to good old days. You know, spending less time on entertaining yourselves, and spend more time with others. Engage in conversation. Laugh, talk, scream, hug, kiss, and getting slap for attempting to kiss, homo or hetero. Do things that worth the time (okay....termakan hati with my own words here). Break a sweat, run, jump, have some trills.

I don't know about you guys. But maybe that's what I need. Yet since there are restrictions and limitations I cannot disobey at this time (example it's freaking cold here right now; I'll be crazy to do too much of outdoor activities), so maybe I'll have to be a bit more creative.

Call me lame, but I think I'm into drawing. Whatever, doodles, sketch, paint. Human, plant, birds, fruits. Heck, maybe I should draw the Anatomy of the Upper Limb and Lower Limb, since that's what coming up the next semester.

I wonder, what do they do at the age of twenties?

p.s: owh future wife(s), whoever you are, one day you'll be looking at this blog and might try to kill me for having a thought of kissing stranger, even jokingly. Well, whatever happens, do know that this is just a mere joke and of course I never do such thing...or maybe, er..hehehe? (okay the knife, put it down, pretty please?) :P

Random Rant

Hu ha hu..

A couple of papers to go before I can say Sayonara to Semester 1!

Semester 1...haha, that always seem like a joke.

Friends and family who by now are wondering what happened to their facebook; don't worry, nothing is wrong with it.

No glitches, defect or maintenance or whatsoever.

It's just a major lacking of friend's update, due to the fact that I'm not around to bombarded it with much too constant postings.

Haha, don't celebrate yet, I'm only deactivating it for a while, since I've got exams here. Yes, I'll be back to torment you guys, polluting your newsfeed (Is this what their called it? The little box at the upper right quadrant of the page, which constantly post your friend's updates) with my emotionally derived, psychotic postings. (Yes, you may cry in anguish)

Too little good, too much bad. Yup.

Hu ha hu..

Puffing, was I tonight, as it was my house turn to take the food from the restaurant. Agency that help me in my study had been generous; students under the agency were/are provided with foods for lunch and dinner during exam period. Although part of me wish delivery was included in it as well. Remember my previous post? Human, at least I, never seem to be enough with what is/are given.

So away was I, with a friend of mine, taking the food from the restaurant which was unfortunately quite far,but annoyingly not far enough to be considering a cab, unless you're very very very weak. Or unless you're a girl, not that I'm saying girl is weak or anything, don't get me wrong, it's just that guy have more energy and muscle strength while the girl strong organs which are known so far by mankind besides the wombs which are capable to content a single or more living being(s) is the vocal cord which explain why girl never get tired of nagging people especially guys (could it be guys have strong ears to withstand that overly loud noises?). Haha. With that, I hereby begin my battle of the sexes with any female readers out there, but before we start throwing pens and paper (I was in exam mode remember?) and before I had to deliberately lose whether I win or not (cruel reality of the battle of sexes; right or wrong, men always loses), let me continue my rant.

Reached there, took the food, return back to the dwelling, delivered. All task involve energy, which I'm lack of it due to my own fault of spending the whole morning in my room and not care to take even a single bite of the would-be-reduce-to-glucose/fatty acid/amino acid-materials a.k.a food. Having missed lunch for sleep, I felt like I had been fasting. The "hu ha hu" made me recalled of the upcoming trip for winter holiday (Since I was questioning the fitness level of myself).

The eagerly awaiting trip to Sinai.

Which sadly, I had choose to not go.

I do hope I do not effect my colleague's mood or anything by saying no. Despite similar semester, our view of life are totally different. They at their time and age are at moments to receive the best the world could offer.

Mine? I'm considered it to be the time when I should be the one offering, instead of receiving.

I hope I won't ruins theirs now. Let their present be a present.

As for me...the thought of me enjoying myself whilst my family back home working hard and burning the midnight oils just so I have cash to spend hit me so deep that to be enjoying myself seem like an awful sin. Someday I will had a chance to enjoy myself around Egypt and to climb that mountain in Sinai. But let that be later. I've always seem to put leisure first over goals. Self over family.

Maybe I should rotate that 180 degree.

That way, when I have something to enjoy, I won't have somewhat guilt to goes along with it.

And I'll be more grateful with what I have, and make the best of it.

Hu ha hu.

Food eaten. Stomach content. But heart?

Hu ha hu...it's mixed with feeling. Complicated. Perfect. :)

Grateful?

I was, sitting on the make-shift-chair, enjoying my lunch of nasi putih and ayam bakar with sauce on it which was on a make-shift-table (both the chair and the table were originally a bed frame). Remembering I have some vegetable soup I forgot to put, I quickly withdraw the veggie from it's plastic content and pour it to my warm portion of lunch.

Since the soup was cold, and since the weather was colder, the lunch lost it's remaining heat and I'd ended up shivering while eating.

"Lauk ni, kalau panas-panas sedap..." I begin my would-be-complaint to a friend.

"Tapi, kalau dah sejuk..." as I was about to finish the sentence, I stop, frozen.

Unfortunately my friend ended the speech, "...jadi tak sedap"

No, I did not stop because the coldness of the food cooled down my nerve or anything (as seen in Ice-cream headache). I stop frozen at mid-sentence because I recalled that it is not good to comment bad things on others, living on nonliving things. Even on food.

I stopped because I felt guilty. I was not being grateful. I was enjoying it, wasn't I? Why must I be complaining. Since I was also complaining on the weather, could it be I had been complaining on what God had offered me?

First, the food was free. Our agency had been generous; they provide free lunch and dinner to students under the agency during exam period. The menus were arranged; feedback were constantly received to improve the service. Heck, even catering had been changed when the foods received where not satisfactory.

Second, the food was warm when it arrived; I was the one who choose to eat it late.

So, why must I be complaining? Why must I been saying bad stuffs on eat. The Prophet S.A.W never commented badly on food. If he like it, he eat it. If he doesn't like it, he doesn't say anything about it (If it's haram than the Prophet will prohibited it from being eaten by Muslim).

Reflecting back, there are also countless of times when I put my speech before my thought. Criticizing on others, criticizing on self, back-talk and gossips. Funny, doing things that I claim to hate.

Maybe I just hate them when others do such behaviors on me. Selfish..right?

To change for better is a continuous progress.

I should start, by removing this small bad habits of mine, continuously. InsyaAllah.

Uh, it's morning already. I haven't sleep yet, and I can't believe I waste my time doing nothing but craps! I thought of watching sunrise but the weather is too cold, and even if I do go out to the balcony (which I did), I would see nothing with all the buildings. Kinda wish I was in Alexandria instead, enjoying views of sunrise and sunset at the beach.

That would be nice, at winter time like this.

That's all. I know sleeping after Subuh is so unproductive, but my head is all dizzy and wobbly here, to write and post this itself seem near impossible...okay, I exaggerate that.

Owh, before I came here, sometime during my study in Shah Alam, a friend of mine gave me a gift from that particular friend visit to China. It was a panda that can talk if you press it. I decided to bring it along with me to Egypt, despite in doing so, broke my policy and pride of man-should-not-have-doll. I posted the picture of it on the previous post. Two days

I thought of sleeping early today. Throughout this week my sleeping pattern had be greatly altered or distraught. I seem to end up sleeping at day and waking up at night. So, the idea was if I could sleep early, maybe I could return to my usual sleeping pattern. Right?

WRONG. Here I am wide awake, with time nearing to 4am. Woke up at two, and since then I could not sleep.

Study weeks had been reduced from a couple of weeks to a couple of days left. Here's the time when people start posting "Good luck" or "I'm sorry" posts on Facebook, Blogs, etc. After all, the last thing we would want is having our exam failed because someone did not approve/blessed us. Karma or something. So yes, it's time for wishing and forgiveness.

As for me, I've decided to deactivate my account. Facebook that is. It's getting annoying having life revolved around it too much. Dad was right, that thing does more damage than good. Yet we still love it don't we.

Two days to go, yet I'll already wondering on the days ahead of the exams. How's the winter holiday going to be, how's the next semester, how's the holiday and how the heck am I going to go back with little saving.

How, how, how. Well, let's leave the future at it place; future.

Have you ever had your nails been remove? It's unpleasant, but I believe most of us must had experienced on it, at least once. I myself had experienced quite a number (of having my nails removed), usually due to trauma to that site or after hiking, both resulting in injuring the toes or/and the nails. Again as I said, it's never pleasant, but I often found myself bemused of twisting and pulling that chunk of keratin...the joy seeing own blood seeping out slowly from the wound, the sharp tiny pain as you pull the nail from the skin and flesh apart..owh, the twisted mind of self.

However, "enjoy" as I would, watching others remove their nails were, and are, never pleasing.

But first, what is Ingrown Toe Nail?

According to MedlinePlus, an ingrown toenail occurs when the edge of the nail grows down and into the skin of the toe.

It could be at any toenail, but usually the great toenails are the one affected. Plenty of causes for it to occur, but mainly due to improper nail trimming. Sometimes wearing the wrong shoes for prolong period may result to this.

The ingrown toe nail pushes the skin at the side of the nail, resulting in pain, redness and swelling. Infection may also occur when the skin is injured by the nail.

If you have this problem, it's best to SEEK A DOCTOR. Then procedure such as above clip will be done, under sterile and safe condition. Trying to remove the nail yourself may result in infection or deformity of the nail.

Exam Countdown

Taking a break from all that drawing and writing. Exam is getting nearer and despite having an advantage (slightly), I felt handicapped.

There's a growing tension, but till now it's something that can be digest and savor. I could use a bit of pressure.

I do wonder how everyone else are doing. I seen a glimpse of these companions of mine; they worked hard. I wish that all that hard work paid off, and somehow I do wish I could put the same effort as they had/have.

Funny, these would be the time when you be doing most of the reading on prepared notes yet to apply such method on self seem ineffective. I prefer to do some writing or drawing when I'm studying. Thus that what I had been doing, forgetting sleep as I could not seem to stop.

It's morning now in Mansoura yet it's freaking cold. So cold that the hall just outside my room seem to have the same temperature as the outside.

Second mug of black coffee, and I'll be resuming my study at my messy work studio (Work studio? That's a rather flashy name for a shaky table with minimal functional drawers). Scribbling, drawing, till I fell content.

The clock is ticking.

The countdown begin.

Someone had been asking me "What on earth is this TODO thing I've been ranting non-stop in my facebook account. Well, I'm about to tell you, that TODO is my addictive.

Nah, of course not.

It's just a brand name for wafer/layer cakes. It's produced by Edita Food Industries, and it's a product of Egypt.

It had become my choice for snack ever since I arrived here because it's tasty, sweet, and cheap.

There's plenty of flavors to choose from.

Though, lately I been trying to cut down the consumption. Too much sugar ain't good right?

So cut down I did. I even think I could really get rid of the addiction to it.

YEAH!!

That was of course, till...

Now I'm back to eating it...

So TODO is pretty addictive, at least for me.

I was returning from a meeting, and while I was refreshing the page of this blog, I was inform that my account had been disabled.

Panic, I was, and I was very near to breakdown.

Refilled

You know, the water inside our body needs to be refilled; that's why we have thirst sensation. It's not something that stay constant, yet it always need to be in a constant amount for optimum performance of our body need. Water inside lost in various ways, yet we gained it back simple through drinking.

Refilled.

You should also know, that body need energy. Energy is not something constant in our body, yet we need it constantly to be at a constant amount for our body to function at optimum level. Depleted of it, and you start showing symptoms. Too much, and you also be having symptoms. Energy can be lost in various forms, but to gain it is simple; eat.

Refilled.

These are two simple needs of our body that we always cater for. Owh, yes, we would be do of almost anything just so these two needs are meet.

But, what about our soul?

Doesn't it need refilled as well?

How does our soul is refilled?

What is to be gain? What is to be feared of losing?

Iman.

That's what we need.

As Muslim, as human.

There had been a spread of videos about Usrah lately. I knew this, of usrah, for quite some time. Yet, there's always part of me that wish to back off over such things. Various reasons:

"I'm Busy"

"I've other commitment"

"I'm not good enough"

"I'm too shy"

"I'm not worthy of being good (as you guys)"

"etc."

I guess reasons will always be there if you want them.

But past had shown me, that whenever I decided to push it aside, I'll end up looking back for it.

Why? Various reasons as well. Like I said, reasons will always be there if you want them.

But I guess, the main point of turning back is this; to cater the need of being a human.

To replenish one's soul.

Photos

I love snapping pictures. It's not that I'm good at, but it's just something I love to do.

I suppose I got this from my father. Dad just love taking pictures, it's part of his work, and even if it doesn't, it seem to be a part of him.

His hobby I guess. I wonder if photography is an inherited gene.

But snapping pictures require lots of guts and the ability to not shy out in any occasions. I seem to fail in that, especially when I begin to enter the real world after being constrain in high school of only lads.

The guts seem to have deplete somehow.

Hence, it's a rarity to be snapping the counterpart. Those who were usually in the pictures are either randomly selected (through natural selection?), or someone who is so familiar to me up to the point they are either my family members or pals who I either assume as part of my family or who are so close to me (sort of like closest pals) up to the point that marriage with them seem impossible. Or work related pictures.

Other than that, I can't seem to have the causality of going to them and just snap.

There's a part of me that keep saying, "Do it and you'll be punch to dead. By their handbags."

And ever since someone said,

"saya tak suka orang ambik gambar"

(I dislike those who take pictures)

The impossible is nearly irreversible.

But, in the near future, I have to ignore all that. My current post require snapping. Shots need to be taken.

Cloud

Cloud doesn't really have a silver lining. Even if it does, there's nothing much that we can do about it.

You can't really convert it to cash.

And it's depressing watching that reflecting grayish white/black of the silver.

Cloud brings rain. Sometimes thunder. Nobody likes that.

But if ones stay for a bit, be patience for a while...

The cloud will go

Internet had not be acceptable; it seem to always perform below average here. Or not performing at all.

Anyhow, this week, few things had occurred.

Here's an entry about the Mesyuarat Muhasabah MTC ke-5.

"Post mortem meeting" in English.

Previously in Chapter 55, I did mention superficially about the event. Maybe I'll wrote the elaboration later in Malay in my other blog, should I have the energy to do so. Janji niat tu ada, hahaha.

Meeting was at 7.30pm, despite the half an hour postponing, I still appeared late, not quite but late nonetheless, to the meeting. Initially I thought there will be a pot luck session at the end of the meeting; my experience with post mortem meeting of ADHA '11 somehow made me had this perception. Worried that I'll be the one without anything but empty stomach, I grab some Ashir Mangga (Mango juice) before the meeting ~~(can I make that as an excuse for being late?)~~.

Funny to think just few years ago my favorite juice would always be Apple Juice. Ever since that Ayat-Ayat Cinta released and ever since that unforgettable experienced of the fresh cold sweet awesome addicting mango juice I had in India, the menu had changed.

Anyhow...

It turn out that nobody except me was thinking of potluck. So there was I, in front of the door, spending few seconds to decide whether I should walk in with four carton in my hand, or just snuffed everything inside my beg and later had a drink on my own. Decided on the former, I entered.

Though it was just a drink, I do hope it helps in bringing in the mood of the people.

The meeting begun and I was expecting myself to be bombarded with critics.

Having used to events and organizing them, I put myself at the level of below average for my performance. The work of mine was critical, and I was late in realizing that and it does, in a way, effect the event. In the end, I rely on the help of many to fill in the voids which I had left in my work.

Yes, I was expecting sulky faces and stabbing remarks of my performance.

But that Friday night, of what I received was something unexpected.

Totally unexpected.

In the end, I could only do a blank face.

Or at least I try to do that.

Otherwise, I would be red. Flush red.

Hot and red, though I could easily claim that to be the result of the fever I had been having for nearly a week now.

These guys touched me.

Well, they shocked me to be more precised.

Up to the point that I even blurted out my readiness to work again in the future.

But that's the truth I guess.

So the meeting ends.

Plenty of positives to be taken from the meeting. Even the negatives are positives.

As for the lads and ladies of the MTC ke-5;

MTC (Minta Tambah Cuti)

For the past few days, if not weeks, had been busy. Being part of a committee of an event, regardless of events, required such high level of energy, both mental and physical. The demand for high enthusiasm and spiritual support are also there.

...doesn't seem like something I'm made of.

Nevertheless, lacking some, if not all, I still participate in MTC.

Not Minta Tambah Cuti (ask for more holiday leave).

Rather, MTC stands for Mesyuarat Tahunan Cawangan (Annual General Meeting, or something similar to that) ke-5 for Perubatan Cawangan Mansurah (PCM in short, it's a body representing Malaysian students here in Mansurah). I was in task of handling the promoting and advertising the event, something which is an alien to me. It made me missed my old friends and my old team back in MSU years, especially Najmi who is very good at this. Newbie or not, duty is duty, and although I had a fair amount of flaws, I believe I manage to made it through.

And having done that (promoting), the D-day begin yesterday, on Friday morning which I usually prefer to sleep and getting all warm and cozy underneath that comforter I have. But up earlier I did, and dress up smart ~~(actually I did really iron my clothes~~, they look magnificent) and head over to the gate of Istad Gamaah.

Halfway there, I realized the door is closed.

Half panic ~~and looking smart~~, I realized that I have to turn all the way to the other gate. Which is very far. It's 6.30 a.m.

Where the heck is the taxi?

So walk I must. Quickly, maybe the adrenaline rush for the panic earlier on help me to forget the fatigues of my legs.

Arrived, settled and start working.

The arrival of students was not as early as the tentative; the event eventually begin at 8 a.m.

Although my part as Promotion Unit ends yesterday, I decided to help out with the Technical team and thus hang around with them.

The event was a first time for me, rather interesting, really.

I recalled our Annual General Meeting for Medical Science Club was somewhat less the formality, though maybe more warmth and friendliness. Yesterday, it was like a glimpse of adulthood. How the world function. How the adult discussed.

A glimpsed though. Just a glimpsed. But let not go to too much details on that.

As the event ended at 8 p.m. and all of us running out of energy, we had in each of us a smile on our faces.

We did it. :)

Rain, rain

I miss rain.

There're probably hundreds or perhaps thousands of things I missed right now, but for this moment, rain seems to be the biggest.

I desire for a rain similar to those back in Malaysia, I wish for the time where I would just sit inside my house, perhaps on a veranda, watching the rain falls, watched as puddle of water forms and runs along the floor and watch as ripples of water form for every drop of rain.

To watch as small animals scattering for cover. To watch as small child delight by the rain, while somewhere far, his or her elder demands the child to return home to warm.

I missed being that child, just have fun and laugh and smile whilst the cold wet moisture ran across the face, some dipping your lips.

It taste like joy, it taste like freedom.

Even to just sit and watch is an enjoyable time.

I miss rain. All the trouble in the world seem to be bygone when it came.

Unity is strength

Unity is strength. There's once a tale of an old man, who called upon his three boys. He was about to give a lesson of life. With the boys arrived in front of him, the old man give each of the lads a stick. He then said,

"I would like you to break the stick"

The boys did so easily, without putting in too much of effort. The old man then give them a pile of sticks, neatly tight with ropes at each ends as so to hold the stick. He then instructed the lads to try to break the sticks.

Huff and puff the may, till their arms got sore and they sweats all over, the sticks remain intact.

Satisfied, the old man then said.

"Human are like these sticks. Alone, and they can be easily break, crush, or crumble. But if you are united as one, then whatever odds that may befall you, you will remain resilient and strong."

Unity is strength. Sadly, such tale is only told by mouth, and rarely learnt by heart and practiced. Unity seem only when desperate times, or when Barcelona is against Real Madrid or when the election is near. Even then, such unity is only among clique or small dividing groups, never as a whole.

Unity is strength. When you are far away from your homeland, strength is something you need to keep going. Dividing ourselves will only lead to few men gains and others to lost. Or worse, every single one of us would crumbled.

I'm still new, just a few weeks here in Mansoura. I am still on the observer seat, seeing history through my eyes and perhaps written in any forms, such as in this blog of mine.

It would be impressive, should I be able to witness unity among the Malaysian here. It would be impressive, should the seniors be able to show they strength in number. It would be impressive, should the former show the later how is it to stand united under one group, instead of dividing.

Would they be united?

I guess, on Friday, 16 December 2011, I shall get my answer.

Unity is strength.

And I'm still a fool.

I had made a grave error. I forget to recollect myself. I forget that things had changed.

When I first came here and had a view of my classmates, housemates, group, I kept comparing them with the ones which I had back in Malaysia. Back in the past.

I often took the liking of seeing how one could be similar to another.

I made a grave mistake. I forgot how people are uniquely different. No one is the same. They may look like the same, they may behaved the same, they may expressed the same.

But nothing is similar.

Just because one interact the same as your old friend, doesn't mean that your reaction towards one should be the same as in the past.

I forgot that.

I'm still dwell too much in the past.

I still am a fool.

Sure, things had reset back to zero. But things had changed. You can't never be like you were.

Nothing, no one is or are similar. I had to witness that to finally learnt the bitter truth. Bloody how it hurts. To behave like I usually would, but to receive a different reaction. Even the same "Yes" utter from the same question, it still is different. The voice is different. The tone is different. The mouth is different. The face is different. The composure is different. When someone said, "You were being unusually kind", I realized that my action was not one of the ordinary. It was ordinary, but not for the present. Not for them, him, her of the present. I only did that because I used to do that in the past. I was imaging someone else who I was helping. My mind was still lock in the past, and unconsciously my body act on the present.

I should have take time to adjust. Not to jump in so suddenly.

Bloody it hurts. My head hurts. My mind hurts. My soul screamed, shattered, battered, torn, broke, brake, brake, brake, brake, brake and it's bloody hurts.

December.

December. As JB said, "It's the most beautiful time of the year", it really is true. Back in my childhood years, December is the best month ever. There's no school, no tuition or anything that require us to go back to the school, and it's the time where family trip to anywhere is a must.

Although as we get older, such luxury diminished, little by little. Still, December is the time to enjoy ourselves.

Couldn't really say much on how my December will be. Hoping for the best.

However, need to remind myself that exam is just around the corner. 18 of January to be exact.

It wouldn't hurt ~~(yes it does)~~ to sacrifice the present, for the sake of the future.

Sometimes, whenever I'm free, I would try to do some random reading. On anything.

Few days back, I pick up few key points from my sis, who is in Japan and currently having a course in Business (thou she's majoring in a very different kind of field) and do some search on them.

I'm ends up confused.

So many terms I could not understand, and I thought Medical Terminology was the hardest language on Earth!

However, confused as I am, I did enjoy reading the materials.

This has to be the most efficient university thus far! In term of marking papers I meant. Imagine, just 4 hours after the exam ended, the result had been released!

Anyhow, I do hope I could pulled this one out, having been quiet unimpressive in my study for the past few days.

Can't write much, but before I go, here's a quote I wish to share.

A rather nasty one, but truthful nonetheless.

They say PATIENCE is the key, but sometimes, the DOOR ain't there for you to use it.

There's a broad difference between like and love. Optimistic may lead to suffering, so once in a while, it's good to retain you pessimism about people or things.

But then again, what is life without risk? What are tears without joys?

Funny, to be pondering on this, when the exam is 2 hours away!!

p.s: I wonder, do history really work like a wheel? I guess it does. Too bad the diameter is too small; the repetition of events are too frequent. Soon. History will reclaimed the stage. Brace for it.

The Griefing House

Last Wednesday, an impulsive decision turn out to be an interesting choice in my life. I was, on impulsed, decided to visit Zul, a friend of mine after dinner. Upon arriving, I came to learn that he was preparing his home for solat jenazah and majlis tahlil. Apparently, a father of a student died in Malaysia yesterday. I had been informed of such, but never had I knew that it was from my friend batch, and never would I had imagined that I would be along during the ceremony.

"Macam mana kenal si *****?"

"Eh, tak kenal pun. Asalnya nak jumpa si Zul ni"

".....owh"

Thus, the little space of the house was filled with people, most of which I knew not. I'm amazed by the unity of this Red Warrior spirit; they flicker strongly, even at Mansoura. I was, I assumed, one of the few who were "orang luar", but I didn't felt outcast. Even during and after the tahlil, I felt warm and comfort by their presence. Perhaps I was used to it, back in my matriculation days, when Zul and Zaim (another ex-KMKu friends of mine who's here) were familiar faces to hang out with.

If only I could understand more of their slang though... (wait, ain't I'm suppose to learn Arabic first?)

More importantly, as I observed people and custom, I learnt something new.
About living.
About death.
About in between.

But death is dark and will always be...and it despaired me much when news of death is heard. Yesterday, as I felt the vibration of the poor lad, who was next to me during the solat, who was obviously trying as much as he could to muster his strength over the startling news that he had received, trying yet failing to conceal his emotion, he reminded me of this;

Butterfly Effect

It was turning out to be an enjoyable occasion yesterday evening, as the second day of our tuition for mid-semester conjured. The air was more lively, perhaps people were merrier; we had fulfilled our tummies first (with a grand banquet!) before the class. The subjects, although basic and were supposedly yesteryear to me, still proved to be hard to digest, specifically at biochemistry, but overall, we do gain some outcome from the lectures by seniors. Sadly (was I really sad, or glad?) though, I was put on highlight as I was, and am, the oldest in my batch, having my age similar to those of year 3 and four of Medical Student. Sigh~

That had been one of the reasons I had for being gloomy for quite some time.

I'm a spoil child, a trait with I sometimes take to liking, and spoil child are hard to be please yet easy to be displeased. Having said that, I'm guessing that this depression I had must be due to this trait which I carried, one which I'm not so sure whether it was inherit or through environmental exposure. Maybe both. Or maybe it's just me being delusional after recollecting too much on autosomal and sex-link disorders, one of the topics in Genetic which I took this semester. The syndrome of medical students, always linking oneself to the worst defects he/she learnt in his/her study...sigh.

Yet there are always someone out there, who had enough heart to pamper to this annoying lad and patience enough to actually remain by his side and go along through thick and thin. For such people, I can't thank you enough.

There was a simple sermon in between Maghrib, Iftar (breaking fast ceremony) and Isyak, with contents worth listening. Unfortunately, I am such in a disadvantages when it comes to recollecting and here am I right now, realized that I had forgotten the sermon. However, I was deeply interested by the phrase from the speaker, on how when ones save a life, it is as if he save the whole population. Though it is impossible for me to explain this phrase in his way or in the religious way (I'm not a Ustaz, or a Imam, okay?), it did made me recalled this; Butterfly Effect.

Butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions; where a small change at one place in a nonlinear system can result in large differences to a later state. The name of the effect, coined by Edward Lorenz, is derived from the theoretical example of a hurricane's formation being contingent on whether or not a distant butterfly had flapped its wings several weeks before. It meant to say that, for every thing that occur in life, even the smallest of thing, may bring a huge impact to life later on. So, should a doctor managed to save a patient, say a boy, that patient, that boy, may turn out to be someone important for the community in the future.

When you put such theory into perspective, it does make you appreciate good deeds, either from others or from self. It does make helping an old man or saving a coin in the piggy bank or studying to be a doctor much more fulfilling, right?

Random rant

I was relief as our PBL session for today ended. It was great, as today I seen most of us anticipate in the discussion; there was even some debate on where the site of sperm maturation. Perhaps it's us finally getting hold on the idea of PBL.

Or maybe it's because of the topic: Reproduction.

Nonetheless, if this continues, I could predict that we would get the maximum benefit of the PBL session. ~~The next cases would also be covering on Reproduction.~~

However, I was not relief for the PBL to end. I was actually glad that tomorrow and the next 4 days would be a day of without lectures and lab. It would be a HOLIDAY.

Before the mid-semester exam.

Having said that (rather, wrote that), the day would not go without classes. We are still compulsory for our JOM! MUMTAZ program, which about to start in less than a couple of hours. Being the one writing the proposal, it would be odd to have me missing with the crowd. ~~They would cry for my absence.~~

Funny to see myself bearing this position. The part of was still denying it, yet part of me was already moving forward, brainstorming inside his gray cell of the possible events/programs/actions.

Sigh~ I hate this bipolar behavior.

Well, at least the days are free for whatever I wish to do. I felt like I need some time out. Being abroad does have its toll, especially for newcomers such as self. The excited felt on the first few weeks had long subsides; now everything reminded me of something or someone back home.

Homesick? I say...it's NATION-SICK...

Regardless, I hope to cure my mental ailment quickly and get back on track. I can't afford leniency and strolling around too much anymore; I done that so often in the past. How often do I said this? Hmm...

Nonetheless, whilst fulfilling my present and looking forward for the future, I do had some time to scribble something of the past.

Maybe I should frame this. Then again, this is quite amateurish.

What happen to my drawing skill? ~~Do I have one?~~ Sigh~

Appreciate what you have

Something odd about today. Or these week. There's so much to write about.

So here's something about us. Students.

Surely, there had been a commotion about how we had been behaving, virtually through Facebook or through real life.

I had to agree with the lecturers, if they were to conclude that we are immature and rude.

Or that we behave as little kid.

Perhaps it's not wise or the best, for me, to be judging my own colleague. Especially if I am far older than them, and had experience campus life three years ahead of them.

But, yes, I had experienced, of what its like to be a first year student. I had also experience of how it felt like getting all confuse for the first few weeks, or months, or even for the first year!

And yes, I too, had experience the ego of students (medical students specifically) that always want to downgrade others, even their lecturers of vast years of knowledge and experience.

Yes, I was young, I was free, and I was dumb.

But not dumb enough to not know that I was dumb.

Eventually, I begin to realized these tutors or lecturers are fundamental for us.

Their our walking stick, our headlight.

Heck, they're our brother and sister, our father and mother, our loyal friends!

So ease up, dear youth. Stop being so reactive and start being proactive.

Appreciate what you got. Before it's gone.

Or you'll be sorry for neglecting what you got.

Here two phrase worth sharing:

That was my conclusion after the Mesyuarat Muhasabah (post mortem of the Aidil Adha event) just now.

I was, to begin, a bit late as I printed out the copies of handout of the previous meeting at the very last minute. The rest were there, in Darul Rahmah, a converted house (to a hall) that witnesses most of the Perubatan Cawangan Mansoura activities, already begun the post mortem.

I entered, slightly embarrassed, predicting a not-so-happy-why-are-you-late faces from the others. Not that I was the last to arrived, but I hate being late. It would bring such a bad impression for me, and that's not what looking forward to, especially as I have another six years to spend as student here, if God wills. Nonetheless, as I see the faces smiled instead of the emoticon that I had suggested, I knew I had the best excuse to being late; I was carrying a box of Baron cake, a rather superb delicacies here in Mansoura (not that I have tasted it till now).

As I be seated, the meeting resume.

I realized, as I'm busy scribbling the notes presented from each committee members, that this is something new for me. I had been quite active in clubs and events in my previous study back in Malaysia, and post mortem as such were held. But there's something different about this and the previous. It's has an unique air in the atmosphere.

Perhaps it was the team members itself, as Zulhilmi, the program director a.k.a a dear friend of mine, said.

"You're the best team I'd ever had"

I'm pretty sure that's not just a repetitive slogan said in every post mortem meeting.

I heard that before. In fact, I said that before, and from what I know, when someone said that, he/she meant it.

There's a speech in the end of the program, just before we dine ourselves with the meals each of us bought, that got me to writing this.

It's the thing that I had been thinking for the past few days.

It's the thing that I had post in the blog.

WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE?

Imran told of a story of a friend of the Messenger Muhammad S.A.W, an Arab Badwi, that during one of the battle, after the battle was over, a friend seek this Arab Badwi to present to him with a token taken from the war. The Arab Badwi ask and the friend reply that this is his part of share for joining the battle.

The Arab Badwi, instead of accepting the offer, took the prize and met Rasulullah, where again he ask the same question and the Prophet reply as what the messenger had replied.

The Arab Badwi said then that he entered Islam not to wish for such gift. Instead, he wish for something that enter from his throat and penetrates to the back of the neck (he wish to be a martyr), to which Rasulullah replied, "If you choose to what you wish to be, then Allah would give what you wish to be".

Later, in another battle, the Arab Badwi died and when the others presented him to the Prophet, there it was, a spear entering from the neck and penetrate to the back. He got his purpose of being a Muslim.

As I left the hall, I'm fiddling again with this question: What is the purpose? What is my purpose?

When I joined the team of ADHA '11, I was in for two reasons:

1. I would like to help my friend.

2. I would like to gain new experience.

Other than that, I don't really have a much more divine objective.

But I see how these guys have. How the others, the committee of ADHA '11, have such pure purpose in their heart.

It beats with their heartbeats.

That's what turn the event to a success. That's what effecting the meeting room.

That's what effecting me.

Will I be like them?

Only time will tell.

p.s: forgive me if the story of the friends of the Prophet is not being narrated accurately.

p.s.s: funny, I'm sure back in the past I was just an ordinary follow with the flow type of guy...Perhaps I am a Phlegmatic after all. I'm sure changed. Perhaps I'll change some more, hopefully better.

Losing in the Mental Game?

I was, I had to admit, in mixed feeling when I updated myself with my friends status in Malaysia. Alhamdulillah, I'm glad they seem to do well in their studies. At least, I'm glad there haven't been complained on the system that I had turn to hate. I'm glad things seem to work well with them. I hope it last.

There is part of me that begin to judge my decision, the path I took. There is, a part of me, which now questions my authorities of myself. Doubts begin to pool, regrets seem to follow.

Anguish is smiling. It's meal is just about half-done.

This is the time when I really dig into myself to find the answer to my question:

What is the purpose of you being here?

Why choose such a daring step? Why take such a huge risk? Why re-start?

Why? Why? Why?

I'm in a game, and I'm losing a few rounds already.

Would I want to return to the past?

Yes, I nod unconsciously, in my mind. There's something in the past that I missed so much. There's comfort and joy inside.

But, there's also something dark and hideous. Something I choose no longer to be part with. Something that I knew, if I stay put, I'll be devoured in it.

There's something sweet in the past. But there's something sinister lurking as well.

No, I shake, consciously.

No more.

I'm glad that my friends are happy with the decisions they make. I pray and hope that happy ending would be not just a fairy tale for them.

Here am I, with the path I took. It's long, it's straining. But I'll make it through.

Even if in the end of the road no one is smiling for me, I'll make sure I finished this game with huge broad smile in my face.

Motivation

When you are far away in a stranger land, motivation is what you need to survive each day.

When you are away to seek knowledge, motivation is what you need to keep focus.

When you had been put down few times and try to rise again, motivation is your key to perseverance.

When you have all that, motivation should be you everyday juice, stimulating you to survive, focus and consistent in your path.

That's what I've been searching.

Motivation.

Something to keep me going.

In the end, it's not through some motivational books, or songs with upbeat/inspiring lyrics/tunes, or from the view of the foreign land, or from the cold wind that keep gusting mercilessly.

No.

Not through some contact of distant friends or admirers ~~or admiring~~.

Not through some videos in YouTube or some movies.

No.

In the end, it's all about asking yourself with this question:

WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE?

Your answer is what will get you going.

Every Chapters Count

When I was to depart to Mesir, it was on the same week PMR (Peperiksaan Menengah Rendah) was to held. My sister was sitting for that exam, and being one of the vital exam, she had to stay put and unable to send me at the airport.

Now, it's Monday in Malaysia, as well in Egypt, with six hours difference, and it's the kick off of SPM (Sijil Pendidikan Malaysia), another vital exam for the high school students.

My sister, older than the previously mention, will be sitting for the exam.

Amazing how time flies.

I recalled taking care of them when they were still toddlers, as gone to all sort of mischief and misadventures with them, due to the fact that I was quite a troublesome during my youth (but still all cute and cuddly and innocence), and that they just want to get involve in every single thing I do, since we usually have us to ourselves as nomadic life often resulted in us having little friends to play with (especially for me, but you're not really going to be interested in that).

So now here they are, one entering the mid-life of a high school student while the other are about to see a wider view of the world.

Amazing. I still see them as little sisters.

To my dearest sisters, do well. In exam, in social, in anything. Do your best, and do better for each day.

Life your life to the fullest. Don't let anything stop you.

Do that, and you won't have anything to be regret of.

Sure, in life, there will always be something that let you down. Or something that doesn't goes to plan.

Don't worry, just stay happy and positive.

Everything happen for a reason. You may step on a stone as you walk, but who knows, that's the way you would realize there's a much larger threat in front, and you manage to avoid that just in time, thanks to the little trouble you faced earlier.

Dear sis, I'm wishing you all the best.

Don't be like me. Be better.

INTERNATIONAL Students

Currently listening to C.N.Blue songs. Funny, it's been a while since I last enjoying myself with Korean style. Ever since that eventful event, way back in the past which I wish not to speak or write or recall right now (but I already did, at least the recalling part). Even now, I'm TRYING to enjoy the songs. Which are quite good.

Anyhow, there's this buildup of feeling inside of me, which I felt must be channeled out. Being an introvert, trying to speak it out loud would be an impossible task. The best I could is mumble few silent chants.

Anyhow, it's been a month now, living a life of international students. The international goes to us, Malaysian. No, the Egyptians are the local here. So living life as international students, it's sad for me to say that thus far the situation felt so...Malaysia.

Up till now, I still prefer Malaysian food over the local. I still struggle to speak Arabic.

But that's not what pissing me off right now.

Actual, it's the attitude of US that caused me this late night nagging.

Imagine you're the lecturer, and the students in front of you are speaking/discussing in a language that you do not understand. Would you be annoyed?

I would, even when I'm not a lecturer.

We have, only 3-4 hours of classes. The rest of the 24 hours are free for us to converse in any language that we like. So, can't we just focus on that little our, to talk on a language that is understood by all.

That's just one, of few more attitudes which I found disturbing.

Owh.

Maybe it's just me exaggerated here. After all, it's only been about 40 days of life in Egypt. Maybe I should let loose of myself, stop being to moody and serious.

But, life would always keep moving.

If we don't change our attitude now, would tomorrow promise a better us?

Wow...I never really thought of the distance between my faculty from my home. Looking from a bird eye view, my house is quite far away from the campus. A casual walk would take up to 15 minutes. My walk, if I were alone or if I were late, would take a much faster time. Perhaps all the extracurricular activities back in the past help me to speed up my walk.

Oh well.

Okay, anyhow, sick or not, today we, the little band of MedicMesir students (of the 1st year), decided to throw in a small party in conjunction to Aidil Adha celebration. It was an idea of me and few others, ~~as we don't really know what to do with the camel meat that we got~~, to have a cherish and wonderful memories together among us.

Simple put, each houses are to prepare something, and we would be gathering at one of the houses.

Pot Luck, I'm sure my friends back in Malaysia are way too familiar with this sort of event; we did it so frequent.

As for our house, we decided to come up with Daging Unta Paprik.

ADHA 2011

The first day of Aidil Adha was perhaps one of the most annoying time in my life. I had awake early before Subuh, performing solat and getting prepared for the Aidil Adha prayer. But then, I got too accustomed to the internet that I lost the track of time. That plus the fact I vaguely know the prayer time here, I ended up missing the prayer.

Not a great start to my day.

The lads then decided to go and snap pictures of us intake from MedicMesir. After that, I invited some of them to have a taste of my chicken soup. The response enlightens me.

But that's not the hallmark of my Aidil Adha 2011.

The hallmark, would have to be on the second day of the festive.

In the last post, I mention that I was involved in ADHA '11 committee right?

Well, here's a bit of overview of what had happen earlier today (7th November 2011).

The day begin early for me, despite suffering a bit from fever, I push myself to arrived at the area around 7am. There, the animals are waiting. 1 cow, 3 khoruf, 3camels, and 45 goats.

Yes, I did not wrote it wrong. FORTY FIVE GOATS. It could had been 46 instead, should one of them didn't turn out dead on Sunday.

I was the secretary and in black and white, I was to just observe the event and make a report out if.

That's what a black and white would said

Lucky me, I'm too colorful to do just that.

So instead, I put myself to begin as useful as I could.

First task was to take care of the goats, which I found amusing (and educating, as this is my first hands on experience with these little beasts).

Then when the slaughtering begin, I help to hold down few goats.

But of course, that's far from the excitement of the day.

There was 3 camels for this Adha event.

I decided to help in slaughtering all these three camels. It was my another first time experience, and I enjoyed to the very last.

All dirty from blood stain on my clothes and mud cakes forming around my leg and trousers, I did not stop there. Although I did not take part in melapah daging, I was here and there, trying my best to be useful.

I feel alive.

With such wonderful and new excitement filling up inside of me, the Adha feast in Tanta, one organised by my agency, one which I chose to miss, doesn't look so bad to be miss at all.

By 1.30pm, all the animals had been slaughter, and some were being cut to smaller pieces whilst other ready to be distributed.

The committees and few helpful colleague then help in cleaning up the area.

After that, most of us call it a day. MOST, as the committee for meat distribution still need to pack the meats and distributed. MOST, as the committee for cooking still need to cook for the dinner.

As for the dinner, the meat was marvelous!

After that, I persuaded my friends to help the committee in cleaning up the remaining meats. The task was tiring and exhausting, as more than 100kg of meats needed to be clean. But we, along with some others, managed.

So there you are, another colorful event added to my life.

Thank you guys, my seniors, who despite the difference in semester, or the fact that I may be older or of the same age as you guys, but nonetheless accepted me. I feel humble that you have welcome me, a newbie of this foreign land, to be part of your team.

After a day of task, I officially depleted of my energy.

7th November 2011, one of the highlights of the year. Definitely one of the best moment in my life.

Salam Eid Adha

Salam Eid Adha. I'd just woke up, at dazed and shivering to the VERY COLD morning air, when I realized, "Hey, today it's Eid Adha day".

Subuh later, and clad in my windbreaker, I snap a picture of a half dazed me.

And I have my official Eid Adha Day picture!

Indeed, this is a very new experience for me. Whilst usually when it come to festive, I would be back home, decorating the house or helping out at the kitchen before the day of the event. Then, I would have the warmth and comfort of the home, enjoying splendid foods and like most of the spoiled kids nowadays, ~~except I'm a spoil young adult instead~~, I would grumbled over the idea of visiting relatives or neighbors and prefer to hook myself in front of the TV watching some stupid Malay Horror/Comedy Movie (Funny how Ghost stories keep popping out at the screen when Raya came), which were something that were far lamer than visiting others, thus, even when I knew the consequence later would be a deep-near-to-coma-sleep due to fatigue, I picked myself up, closed the TV and join them in ~~risik-merisik~~ melawat saudara mara.

That is the situation, back home in Malaysia.

Instead, few days before Raya I was busy doing report of meetings and making tag names for committee whilst having to face the cold air of the day and the much cooler air at the night. The comfort that I had received for the past 3 days was from the comforter which I brought, which I decided not to wrap myself around it yesterday as its "comfort" really cost me to wake up at sunrise.

Already, my joints hurt from the cold floor and the cold water and the cold-to-the-bone wind that gust in along the Syariq (Street) Sidiq, or any other Syariq that I walked on.

Nonetheless, I'm expected to enjoy myself during this festive event. There will be Majlis Korban today. Tomorrow, I'll be a committee of another Majlis Korban. On the third day, there will be a feast called MAWAR. I don't really know what that stands for but someone told me that's a feast with something else: Wahlimatul Urus (Marriage Festival, or Kenduri Kahwin in Malay).

Owh, and the Faculty is throwing a party/festival/makan-makan(?) tomorrow.

But nothing much for today. At least for now.
...So what to do right now?

It's too cold to go out, or to shower.

Clad in my windbreaker, on the first day of Raya Aidil Adha, I'll be searching articles for my PBL case. Maybe.

Of Friends.

Those who know my facebook account, had you notice something? On how rarely now I post my blog to the site. Now, new friends are being introduce into my life, yet I do not feel ease to introduce my life to them just as yet. I don't know, it felt different.

The generation gap exist, and despite adapting to the best of my ability, the gap can still be feel.

It's not that I felt alienated with them, no. I enjoy their company, really, I do. They remind me so much of my friends back in Malaysia.

Those reminiscent...now that's the thing that pulling me down.

Owh, tonight leniency is excepted. Those heavy cloud that had been gathering around you, they can condense now. Let it pour. Let is wash away. Let it cleanse, me.

pre-ADHA '11

It'd only been a month, but I'd already involved in an event. What's more, this event is something that is not my usual genre when it comes to organizing events. Usually I prefer to involved in seminars, or outdoor activities. Rarely, I would involved myself to religious event.

In fact, this could be my first exposure.

However, this is a good exposure for me.

Till now, I had learnt a lot, and I have a lot more to be learnt.

Being under a rather challenging position, it does make me recall of friends who once sit on these position.

Guys, I can't thank you more than enough for all you had done in the past.

Without these guys, my previous committee member, nothing could had been done.

Work, work, work.

Stressed, but it's just desserts spelled backward.

نرحب الشتاء.

There was something odd with the atmosphere around the PBL session today. Nobody seem to be in a great spirit to discuss, or even to open their mouth. Perhaps I consumed too much air of the room that time, as I become silent as well. So it didn't turn out to be a great time. The lecture earlier was odd as well. The doctor were late, mighty late. Why? Beats me, I don't know.

And I know this is not related, but the fact there're two projectors in the hall today also add more to the weirdness of today.

As the PBL ended, me and 2 others quickly rushed to Gawajat to settle for our visa. So much for student service, in the end we had to do things on our own. But it's good, in a way. At least now I know were should I go to settle my passport, visa, etc.

Oh, by the way, we didn't really rush. The wait for cab was long, both towards Gawajat and on our way back.

Despite the hustle and bustle of the streets here, and despite the dust that keeps getting into my eyes, and despite the annoyance of knowing they teasing you but not knowing what they tease, there's something worth smiling about.

In between waiting for the cab in front of our Gammaah, there's a momentary drops of rain. Looking up, the cloud was dark, yet the rain was little, and brief.

Cool.

Winter is coming.

Cool.

Owh, here's something else.

Right now, the temperature is dropping. Even the water you kept at your room felt cold.

I had just finish my meeting, obviously was fatigue due to the 4 hours of sitting in the room, which if I wasn't appointed as secretary and having a task to write instead of heard every reports from every units, I would had fallen asleep. The outside air was getting cooler by each nights, and I'm getting worried that I did not have the clothes to face the upcoming winter.

I'm still wondering why I was TAG along by my friend to this committee despite knowing I'm still a freshmen (well, not really, 3 years of life in MSU should be sufficient to expose me with these kind of situations), and I was churning my head for idea for these TAGS I need design for the committee, which makes me remind of a good pal of mine, Najmi, who is an expert in this designing thing, and returning home to log in, I stumble upon a blog entry.

Restart..even that?

Man, I knew when I choose this program, I'll be expecting to restart back everything back from the basic.

The classes so far proved my statement to be true. Everything are again back to the basic.

Biochemistry, Basic anatomy, Basic Histology.

Despite having to squeeze my brain back for these yesteryear subjects, I followed, to the best of my ability.

I don't really have any wiser options.

But there's two other things that I wish not to restart. These, is something I could choose to not to accept. Back away, walk away, run away, anything just to be away.

I haven't really putting an effort to "be away", instead it had become "be a way".

A path to what? I knew not, or maybe I do, but I'm too lazy to think of it/them for now.

Anyhow, one is that I promise to not get involve in club activity. That promise had been broken last week, as I was appointed as Secretary to an event, and I did not put much effort to reject the offer.

Second, was yesterday, as our batch of young people, ~~except me~~, sit down to discuss on our batch.

We were electing a committee for the batch.

Well, they were. I was suddenly being nominated.

Odd, I thought I was the chairman of the event. Since when can a chairman being nominated and voted?!

Reason to being elected? I was older....OLDER...sigh.

So second, was a promise to self to staying low and not involved in anything...which I broke, again.

Sigh.

May Allah give me Strength.

I'm in need of it.

p.s: The beauty of taking one's trouble is to gain knowledge...I will hold on to this word.

Chief Complain of Heated Cranial

Yesterday, I believed most of us were having our CSF (Cerebral Spinal Fluid) oozing out from our ear. The lecture was hard, and even for me it was difficult to digest. Well, at least I think it's hard. The guy next to me seem to also in agreement, and so did the one next to him, and the one next to him, and the list goes on.

I guess Biochemistry was never meant to be easy, regardless whether you're new to it or had been long exposed (and forgotten? haha) to it.

Luckily, the weather was cold enough to let out frustration cooled off as we headed to our next session; the PBL.

It ain't easy.

Suddenly I was to recollect every bits of information I had about a subject that was exposed to me, three years ago.

The worse thing is, it's the part where I flunk: Musculoskeletal System.

Thus if I were to go to a GP today, my chief complain would had to be heated cranial with delusions of seeing my CSF leaking out. Possible diagnose: Schizophrenia? (laugh)

First year are meant to be hard, even for a three-years-worth-of-a-Medical-Science-student.

To bad I'm enjoying the stress too much.

No GP visit for me today. (smile)

Cold Worker

The fact that the trip to Port Said was cancelled means that I'll have to bear of shivering from the cold gusting wind for few more days.

The weather here is changing, quite rapidly I dare say.

I recalled the first day of grumbling on the scorching heat.

"Hampeh ko Arip, sapa suruh tak reti bersyukur?!"

Now, with the day get cooler and night is cooler that cooler, will I be grumbling again?

Geez, human, never is thankful for what he is given, always demanding for what he do not received.

If God is to take back what He had given....will it be to late to repent.

Weather change

Wish come true

I suddenly recalled, back in Semester one of my degree in Medical Science, back to when I live in the hot and stuffy and dark bedroom of mine in block A of Wisma MAIS.

There was a day when I was reading Ayat-Ayat Cinta, which I found fascinating. It was the first Malay novel I bought for who knows how long, and it was specially the first Islamic novel I had.

There's a part in the novel, where it describe the usual habit of folks to drop a basket from the floor above, to purchase anything from the store below, or to pass on something to a neighbor who live below (their houses are mostly apartments).

I found this very much interesting.

I recalled, having actually wish to be in Egypt.

Just to see that particular event.

Back in the dark and hot room, I wished.

Who would ever thought, that my wish came true.

I'm in Egypt.

I'm studying.

And yes, the basket and it's function.

I seen it.

Oh, one more thing. I'm looking for those who would like to sell their Ayat - Ayat Cinta novel. It must be in good quality, and have this cover design. Any newer edition is not interested. Heart abroad

Monday comes and as my second week begins in Mansoura, Egypt, back in Malaysia, friends had check on their result. It's frustrating to see that my old campus website failed to display, thus halting my intentions to check on my result. But dear friend of mine managed to do just that on my behalf.

Again, as Monday meant class to me, I'm sure the rest of my batch-mates were celebrating. Regardless of the outcomes, the fact that the results were out means that our study in Medical Science is over.

I felt like cursing my playlist right now. It got too much of sad songs.

I wish I was there, back in Shah Alam. Meeting and seeing all of them. Cheers for the good result, and have some laugh and fun after that.

It's over for some of them, while it also mean a beginning for some others.

I missed this out, and I'll be missing another two things; Annual Dinner and Graduation.

Man, I hate this feeling.

I wish I had none.

Too bad, I made some friends. Good friends.

As I left abroad, I left some of parts of my heart to them.

And now I felt for that missing parts.
